Latest News: Jennifer’s Fund, Mission Christmas & An Eye Into Our Factory
Missed what Cairngorm Group have been involved with recently? This blog post shares new sentiments on Jennifer's Fund as the next round of applications deadline draws near, as well as how you can get involved with a local charitable mission yourself, just in time for the festive season. Plus, take a peak into the operations in our Inverness-based factory!
Jennifer's Fund - November Applications
In just the 2.5 years that Jennifer's Fund has been rolling, we have crossed the £25k threshold through donating micro-grants into the local community (Highland, Moray and Grampian) to a maximum value of £1000. Our
recent feature in the Ross-Shire Journal shares more on our ongoing charitable initiative. Joint Managing Director, Chris Dowling says that by imposing this maximum limit, the impact of Jennifer's Fund can spread farther and wider, working towards 'making sure everyone gets a little, rather than a few get a lot."
Chris also touches on how the act of helping those in need in Jennifer’s memory also unexpectedly gave back in return:
"Speaking personally for a moment, I can say that Jennifer’s Fund has actually been quite helpful in terms of working through the grief of it all. It has really helped to know that, from what was a truly horrendous time, some good has come."
Chris also makes mention of grassroots community charities, and how they can be supported through Jennifer's Fund:
"Some of the smaller community causes can be left struggling a wee bit. We wanted to do something at the opposite end of the spectrum to really try to help, especially the ones who maybe don’t even know where to start in terms of funding."
The current round of funding is accepting applications until the 30th November 2024. Don't miss the boat and

Cash for Kids Mission Christmas: North of Scotland
As the Christmas season draws near, it’s the perfect time to reflect on what really matters—joy, kindness, and giving back to those who need it the most. This year, we’re proud to be supporting the
MFR Cash for Kids North of Scotland Mission Christmas Appeal—an initiative dedicated to ensuring that every child in the region receives a gift this holiday season, regardless of their circumstances.

With nearly
900 gift requests already in the region, it’s clear that many families will face difficult choices this Christmas. But with your help, we can make sure that these children still experience the joy and magic of the holidays. Whether you’re donating gifts, contributing money, or getting involved in fundraising efforts, every little bit helps.
How You Can Help: Fundraise, Donate, or Gift 🎁
The
Mission Christmas appeal is all about making sure children who might otherwise go without, receive the gifts they deserve. But we need your help to make it happen. There are several ways you can get involved:
- Fundraise for a Child’s Gift Sack: A simple £50 donation will fill an entire gift sack for a child in need. This small amount of money can bring so much joy and excitement on Christmas morning, and every penny raised will go directly toward providing gifts for local children. If you’re able to host a fundraiser - a bake sale, a sponsored walk, or even a festive challenge, you’ll be helping fill a child’s Christmas with wonder and happiness. Don't forget to tag us in your fundraising efforts and use the hashtag #CairngormGroupChristmas
- Donate a Gift: If you have new toys, clothes, or other gifts that would be perfect for a child, your donation can make a real difference. Cash for Kids has a list of gift suggestions that will go a long way in brightening up a child’s holiday. Your gift will be wrapped and distributed to a child who will otherwise go without.
- Make a Cash Donation: If time is tight but you still want to help, a simple cash donation is always welcome. Every £50 raised will help provide a child with a gift sack full of surprises - things they need, things they want, and things that will bring them joy.
Christmas is a magical time for children, a time to feel special, loved, and appreciated. But for many children in the North of Scotland, Christmas can be a reminder of the hardships they face.
Mission Christmas aims to take away some of that worry by providing gifts that children can open on Christmas morning, sparking joy, and helping them feel seen.
