Why we invest in using the latest technologies?

At Cairngorm we always like to use the latest technologies in designing and manufacturing our products. This means we like to invest in technology that will not only improve the efficiency of the manufacturing but may also improve the accuracy. In 2019, we invested heavily in new machinery to make the Factory more efficient. This included a £350,000 investment in a new Stuga ZX-5 Cutting Machine. The Stuga ZX5 is a very high output sophisticated sawing & machining centre. In more simple terms, this machine will allow us to more than double our window production rate from around 350 windows per week to over 700! We now have one of only 6 of the Stuga machines to have been installed so far. Our Managing Director, David Dowling believes “It’s a huge investment, but we are confident it will be worth it” Manufacturing time of windows has also drastically decreased with the average manufacturing time dropping from 5 hours to just an hour and a half! With both domestic and commercial job numbers rising, we feel that this investment will be very worth it and made worthwhile by our increase in production levels. It will drastically improve the production time The Stuga ZX5 Sawing and Machining Centre was identified as a necessary piece of equipment to handle the increase in demand and future-proof the business. The Computer Numerical Controlled (CNC) machine can handle a series of cutting jobs swiftly, efficiently and accurately. We also like to invest in the latest design software so our customers can get as good an idea as possible of what their investment will look like. Our kitchen design team use the Winner Design software which allows customers to visualise their new kitchen with all appliances and units before making the purchase, giving them peace of mind that their new kitchen is the best fit for them. Similarly, with conservatories we use a similar design software which allows customers to visualise their conservatories on their home, again, providing peace of mind to any prospective customers that they are making the right choice when making an investment in their home. Keeping our factory technologies up to date is key in ensuring no efficiency is compromised with our ever-increasing production numbers.
